• Making More Room in the Pantry – Installing a Shelf

How’s your weekend going?  I’m off to my niece’s bridal shower today (yes, another one is getting married!) but I wanted to share with you a quick project that we did in the pantry this week. For Emily’s wedding  I had bought the commercial plastic wrap for all the little mini desserts I made and transported to the reception hall.  I didn’t use very much of the wrap but it served its purpose well.  I knew I wanted to have the plastic wrap somewhere where I could access it easily in the future but where.  My pantry was quite full already and there was not room for this large box of wrap. This is my…

  • From Pallet to Flag

Hello, ladies.  I’m pretty excited that I finally got to finish my flag project.  Two flags, as a matter of fact. I wanted to paint a USA flag and a Canadian flag on old wood.  For my purposes, I used a pallet that we had lying around.  I removed the boards, cut them to the size I wanted and then we attached them together by laying a couple of strips of wood down and stapling the boards I wanted to them. Sorry, I don’t have a picture of the underside to show you how we attached them but you probably have it figured out already anyways… right?   The next step was…

  • My Sewing Corner Reveal

I am really excited to tell you about a home project that we (ahem) my dad finished for us when both mom and dad were here around Christmas time.  A few years ago we made a bedroom for our boys in the attic. (I’ve never posted pictures of it because I was trying to… I was really wanting to…  I planned to show it after I had finished decorating it. No, it’s still not done.  It’s been 2 years and I’ve done virtually nothing.  Zilch. Nada But I’ve got plans people.  Plans to finally at least start on it. Nevertheless, I’m in the laundry room right now.  So let’s get back to that,…

  • *A Unique Way to Display Christmas Cards

Hey everyone! I had a very good weekend.  Hope you did, too! This past week I had a moment of in-spi-ra-tion!  I love those moments… since they’re not too frequent. 🙂 Anyways, have you ever seen where hotels/restaurants will cover their large pictures with wrapping paper so that they look like a gift? I saw some this week and it inspired me to take the gate I made 2 years ago for my mantle and wrap it. I’m placing my Christmas cards on it. So simple but a fun way to display the cards we receive.    How do you display your Christmas cards?

  • Painting an Old Picture Frame & Making a Chalk Board

Well how do you like that?! I left you all hanging without even a heeelllo to you this week. I’ve been busy doing some deep cleaning.  I got inspired after going for a day to my MIL’s and helping her.  My FIL was hit and ran over by a car 2 months ago and so mom has been his personal care assistant since he got out of the hosptial.  She has nights off because all her boys (my husband included) each take a night on with dad so that she can get some rest.  Since Christmas is right around the corner and the whole family will be gathering for a 3…
