Painting Art for the Chicken Coop
Well my little chicken flock now has their own art. Inspired by Repurposed 4 Life with the chicken art she painted… I painted something of my own. Doing projects like this is great because it doesn’t have to be perfect. And it isn’t. 🙂 Trust me on that one. Here’s how I made it. 1. Using my Silhouette Cameo I cut out a hen with two chicks. 2. Then I traced around the cut-outs onto my board… 3. …then painted. But I didn’t like how the hen and chicks blended in with the background. You can’t really tell from the picture above but the contrast wasn’t enough to really make…

Chalkboard Project – Inside the Kitchen Cupboards
EDITED: Be sure to see what I changed at the bottom of this post. Well I am so excited to share with you this project. I just love how it turned out! Remember this project where I painted sheet metal with chalkboard paint? I’m still loving it. I got the idea to do the same thing on the inside of one of my kitchen cupboards. In the past I have taped recipes that I use frequently on the left hand cupboard and that has been something I’ve really liked. These are recipes that I use over and over and having them taped on the inside of the cupboard has…

Make Your Own Magnetic Chalkboard
I am so excited to share this project that I did this past week. There are times when I actually am successful at a craft project and my expectations and reality are one and the same. It actually kind of shocks me when that happens. 🙂 In our stairwell, which leads downstairs to our guest quarters, I wanted to put up a collage of frames displaying pictures of family and friends. As I started to think about it, I realized I would always have the same pictures in the frames and what I really wanted was to change it up every now and again. So I thought about making…

Winter Craft Idea: Decorating Candles with Christmas Carols
I don’t know if what I’m about to post really is a craft but hey, it did involve the Paper Cutter and Tape so let’s pretend it is, okay? I saw this idea the other day (maybe on Pinterest?) and thought it was so cute. It’s such a simple project. It took me less than 5 minutes. I had some vintage looking Christmas music I had saved from another project that ended up being a big Fail…:( Isn’t the cover adorable? …so I took that and used my paper-cutter to cut the music to the size of the candles. And here’s where the tape came in to…

Resurrection Cookies – A Hands-On Way to Learn About Jesus’ Death, Burial & Resurrection
This Sunday will be Easter, a time to remember the greatest moment in history – Jesus’ resurrection. Have you all ever made Resurrection Cookies with your children? It’s a great way to teach your little ones the story of Jesus’ last days on earth and then his resurrection. We made them (Resurrection Cookies) for the first time last year and the kids are looking forward to making them again. And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. (Mark 16:6) Here the other day, a doctor said, “I…
