The Power of a Pivot

Changing-Direction

Sometimes what we’re doing just is not working for us. Maybe it’s a schedule we’ve set for ourselves, a goal we have made or even how we approach tasks we are to do in the home.

Maybe we get discouraged and just want to give up. But before you do that, why don’t you consider another point of view.

A pivot.

In basketball, once you stop dribbling the ball, you are allowed only two steps.  You must keep the foot that made the last step firmly on the ground where it landed, but your other foot is free to go in any direction it chooses allowing you to pivot.

With a pivot you can totally change your direction.

What does a pivot mean for you?

If something is not working for you, you can change your direction by making a pivot. Maybe your schedule, goal or task is something very admirable and should be done but if it’s not working according to how you wanted it to, you may need to reevaluate and approach it in a new way rather than giving up on it altogether. You may need to go in a completely new direction.

A plan that has failed does not make you a failure if you can learn from it.

You may just need to make a pivot before you are able to find the results you’re looking for.

What are some things that you have been doing that just don’t seem to be going to plan? Maybe it’s time to make a pivot.
