Holidays,  Our Family

Christmas of 2012

Hello everyone! I hope you had a Merry Christmas.

We had ourselves a wonderful time during the Christmas season.

It was Christmas with my side of the family this year.  Mom and Dad were here as well as my sister and her entire family for a grand total of 22.

Even Seth was here after being gone to Manitoba for over a month commercial ice fishing.  It’s a family joke, Seth’s rather non-talkative nature. So, Serenity drew this image before ironing it onto a shirt for Seth. On Oscar the Gouch’s trash can it say’s, “You talkin’ to me?”

Christmas Eve we had an informal Asian meal.

Asian Chicken Noodle Soup

Beef, Shrimp & Chicken Satays, Egg Rolls, Chicken Won Ton cups

We sang some hymns, played some games and watched a slide show I put together of past Christmases.

Christmas Day dinner was a bit of a fiasco.  My plans were to eat about 2 p.m., but then Big Sister didn’t get the turkey in till a little later and so dinner was moved to about 3-3:30.  I thought I had plenty of time to take care of my end of the food and put my food responsibilities out of my mind and didn’t think about it again till after the gifts were open (probably no other family would take over an hour, closer to two, to open gifts).  Then we were scurrying but the ham had to cook for 2 hours.  Aggghhh!  In the end it became supper for we didn’t serve it till 6 p.m.

I don’t think I’ve ever done anything like this before and I hope I learned my lesson!

Martinelli’s Apple Cider is on the table (just in case you’re wondering). 🙂

Happy New Year and I trust you are blessed of the Lord in this new year 2013!

“Oops. This is going to take a little longer than I thought, everybody.” *Shiver* It feels awful to have to say that! (I’ve been through some similar experiences.) lol:)

Looks like you had a nice Christmas anyway – and I’m sure the food was awesome! 🙂

I love hearing from you! Thank you for taking the time to comment.
