Our Family,  Trips We've Made

Ni Hao and How We Were Treated by Our Chinese Hosts

I feel like I’m right on the edge of boring everyone to death with my trip posts. Hopefully you’ll be able to bear about 3 more posts on the subject. 🙂

I wish I were like some who can take their trips and integrate them with sage advice or who can inspire others by their life’s experiences, but it’s just not happening for me, folks.  All you get are the facts with a little bit of photos added in to hopefully make it a bit more interesting.

On with it!

We only spent 2 days with Eric and Kylie but it was time to move along to Murphy & Tracy’s and partake of their warm hospitality. Once again, we were blessed by the love and hospitality we received. These people are so humble and just want to serve.  As a result, we were constantly eating.  Breakfast, lunch, supper, late night snack. Delicious authentic Chinese food.

“Dad”, in the picture below is the father of Tracy our hostess. I love the testimony he has – he was a chain smoker since he was young (it’s a very normal and accepted thing for boys in China). He would light a cigarette in the morning and from then on he would light the next cigarette off of that one.  He smoked about 7-8 packs a day.  When he moved to Canada and became a Christian and received the Message Bro. Branham preached, he was completely delivered.  The Lord took away even the desire for them.  He then visited the doctor at some point and the doctor told him he had lungs like a young man.  What can our God not do?!

I love this picture of Mother and Daughter working together. “Dad” and “Mom” were there the whole time, cooking & cleaning and always with a smile as if it was their treat to be doing it for you.  They didn’t want you to work at anything.

An evening walk down by the bay.  I loved the variety of houses we passed. They were all different but they were so perfect for their setting. I took pictures of quite a few of them and want to make a post just of them sometime.

This was our last evening in Vancouver and the next morning we were off for Lake Louise and Banff.

Have been catching up on your posts and there’s no boredom here!!! 🙂 It is always interesting to read your thoughts and experiences and see your family spending quality time together! Sorry I don’t comment more often and let you know…

Enjoying the photos of the Oregon coast and British Columbia. The canoe trip was a splendid way to view the beauty…sans the rain… 🙂 Good to see familiar faces.

    What does Ni Hao mean?

Thanks, Jana. Yes, some of the pictures I posted were for those who know belivers up there. BC is a beautiful place but I have to say the sunshine was calling me back. 🙂

Ni Hao is “hello” is Mandarin Chinese. Remember our trip to China? The phrases of Chinese that I remember from that trip are thank you and how are you. I had to learn hello from the Internet. ha! 🙂

That’s an excellent idea to put that tape on a DVD. I should do that right away. Like you, I loved that trip. One of my favorites – ever.
