Aaron & Emily’s Wedding Part IV – the Reception
Well I’m pretty sure by now you all are heartily wishing I’d finish all the posts on the wedding. That I hope to do today! So bear with me just a teensy bit more, ‘kay?
The wedding reception hall was almost adjacent to the wedding chapel. The setting at the campground was quite pretty and you can see what it looked like here. In the 5th picture down, it shows the guests waiting to enter the chapel and you can see the reception hall at the back of the picture.
But before the reception could begin, there were pictures to be taken… (Emily’s family)
Heidi (the flower girl) was feeling right at home.
The centerpiece for each table was a square of burlap with some lace on top, a birdhouse, a jar full of fresh flowers, and a peat pot filled with chex mix and a spoon inserted into the mix with a heart glued on the end of the handle that said, “aaron and emily”.
The bridesmaid’s awaiting their moment in front of the video camera.
There were bride and groom cakes to cut but it was only for the traditional feeding of cake to each other and not for the guests.
For the groom’s cake, Emily had a tin with a $5 bill baked into it. The story behind the $5 bill is they had been giving it back and forth to each other and each time they would write on it. Things like, “Back at you,” and “Betcha didn’t think you would get this back.” This time Emily wrote on it, “Ha, ha, gotcha. You can’t send this back now because what’s mine is yours and yours is mine.”
Just a little view of the dessert table.
One of the guests drew this picture from the engagement photo. The artist has never had lessons and only recently started doing portraits. Fantastic work.
Then it was time to say our goodbyes. I may or may not have been going for the wind blown look. Russell was the emcee and did a great job.
Emily’s neighbor owns a 1936? Rolls Royce. What a great getaway car. The driver, who was the neighbor, wore a chauffeur’s uniform complete with hat.
I wish I had a picture of Aaron carrying Emily as he ran through the passageway formed by the people. Emily’s bright orange flowers were so beautiful.
And the birdseed was flying…
Throwing the bridal bouquet.
Good wishes and goodbyes were said. “Beep, beep.” The Rolls Royce had the best horn.
“Beep, beep.” The chauffeur beeped the horn as they drove away.
Ahhhh…
The happily married couple are now honeymooning in Belize, South America. They have rented their very own island for several days and then they are off to the mainland to honeymoon some more.
And here ends the chornicles of Aaron & Emily’s Wedding.
