The Boys’ Bedroom – Getting Some Inspiration

Hey, hey folks!  Things are happening in the laundry room today.  Our tilesetter friend is coming out today to lay the tile in my sewing corner and there are a few other things that have been done in there.  You’ll have to wait for pictures till after we get this tile in.  I know it will be torturous but it won’t be long till I show you it all again. 😉

Today, I’ve got some cooking to do but I’m also hoping to do a little project for my boys’ bedroom.  I think I’m starting to get some direction as to how I want to decorate it.

It’s going to involve the word….

Excelsior

Ernest Shackleton’s ad for voyage to the South Pole

The American Flag

The Canadian Flag (this has meaning because my kids are now dual citizens of the US and Canada)

I found this room on Pinterest and may use a few parts of it for inspiration.

But I’m not totally sure what direction I want to go… maybe a travel/geography or adventure theme.

So, I’m hoping to paint a few flags today on some wood from a pallet we had lying around here.

Cute flag I found on Pinterest.

We’ll see how it goes.  Wish me well. 🙂

Sounds like it’s going to be very nice. I repainted and decorated Isaac’s room last year (or was it two years ago). It was really cute… little boys, dogs & fishing theme. I walked in shortly after that and he had taken down the pictures and taped up snowmobile pages (torn from magazines)on one wall and on another wall he had a grouping of race buggy pictures…guess his style is a bit different than mine. (It’s still decorated the way he decorated it by the way!) 😉

That’s funny, Lily. I have tried to always go with something the boys are interested in because I want their room to reflect them. I really wanted to venture out this time because I was a little tired of the hunting theme. You know how it is with boys and hunting. It can become their life. Well, what I would like to do in their room is also something they’re into so if I can ever get it done, I think they’ll really like it. Just have to get to work on it! 🙂

I love hearing from you! Thank you for taking the time to comment.
