Fall Decorations for Thrifties

When is the best time to buy seasonal decorations?  When the season is almost over if you’re trying to be thrifty.  Since I’m trying to spend less these days that’s what I did this season. 🙂  And since I know everyone loves to see how others are decorating, I decided to share.

I really like how some people are able to decorate with the seasons or the various holidays but had never really tried it until last year.  My first step in that direction was when I bought this wreath at Hobby Lobby last year and hung it on my front door.

This year I decided to put it in my living room above the fireplace.

Then I found this pillow at Hobby Lobby for $3.

And this mini-wreath at Target for $7. I hung it on an old shutter I salvaged from a pile of wood that was to be burned.  It looks as if it’s hanging funny but it’s just the way I took the picture.  Right?  Surely I wouldn’t hang something crooked??

I can’t remember where I purchased this squirrel with an acorn.  What’s your thoughts on the book?  Is it too blue for this setting?  Should I have chosen something that color coordinates better?

I still have some areas that need work but I am just not sure what I want to add.  Maybe when I see it inspiration will strike.  In the meantime I’m enjoying the small touches of Fall that are around me.

And outside our front window the beauty of the season is there to behold. Beau-ti-ful!

Happy Fall!

I'm joining up with Tabletop Tuesday at a Stroll Through Life except that it's now Wednesday. Oh, bother!  I'm late to the party!
