• A Winter Mantle for 2014

I’m trying to get as much done here at the farm as I can before the family arrives next week. Russell, so sweetly decides to make a run into town to get me more liquid iron, and he asks if there’s anything else I’d like. I tell him bananas. One little item…   But then I remember there is a sale on blackberries and clementines so I call to ask him to pick that up, too. Three little items… He doesn’t do much shopping at our local Sprout’s so finding the liquid iron was a bit of a chore but after rounding up two employees, the liquid iron was plucked…

  • Old Woodworking Project Finds New Life as a Sign

I did manage to get the sign made that I mentioned in my last post about Getting Ready for the Holiday’s. It was fun and pretty easy to do. First I found my piece of wood in our pile of wood to be burned and I was so happy because it was some wood from a chair my son Seth had made when he was in high school  learning woodworking. He completed some basic projects and this chair was one of them. You may remember that I shared another project I made from this chair back in April – a coat hook. This is a picture of Seth and my…

  • Getting Ready for the Holiday’s

Has it only been a week since we came home from Pennsylvania? So much can happen can’t it, in just a short time? I arrived home from Pennsylvania only to be laid up in bed for 3 days. I had become anemic and did that ever bring me low. Absolutely no energy and just wanted to sleep and sleep and the headaches were horrible. Thankfully, I was able to see a naturopath who prescribed some tinctures to help with the situation. I’ve had so many bitter tasting substances in the last several days. Yuck! But I’m on the mend, thank the Lord. I’ve been working on a family cookbook. Last…

  • Greetings from Pennsylvania

We’re still in Pennsylvania enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday and we made it here almost without incident. A flight at 2:00 a.m. (I’d like to know who schedules planes at this time of the day!) caused us to try to catch a few winks wherever we were for any length of time. It was there at Dallas/Ft Worth airport that we had an unpleasant incident. My son found an ipod and headphones on a seat. The airport was completely deserted as it was still too early for any flights, so we knew the owner was nowhere around. So my hubby went to the gate where we would be boarding our plane for…

  • Maximizing Closet Space

I’m happy to report we ALL survived our family photo session with nary a tear in sight and only a little tomfoolery. It was a little too cold but even Shalom (my 3 month old beautiful granddaughter) didn’t utter a cry of protest but was a sweetheart the entire time. See, I told you she was beautiful. 🙂 The Thanksgiving season is coming upon us rapidly and my two girls both have birthdays the same week as Thanksgiving. Poor things, they always get a little shortchanged since it’s a busy but happy time preparing for everything. For Serenity’s 16th birthday last year, we didn’t even give her a party till…
