• A Garden Wedding and Reception

Saturday I had the privilege of catering a friend’s wedding. It was held at the Wright House, a very, very beautiful venue. We were planning for approximately 130 people. The mother of the bride did all the shopping, washing and cutting of the salad ingredients so that made it really nice… …the rest of the menu was Fettuccine Alfredo, which we made on location, and bread sticks. If you want to know what young people can do when they are dedicated to practicing music, listen to these kids.  They are excellent musicians and play beautifully together. I had two of my Castle Keeper girls as helpers – Serenity (my daughter)…

  • DIY Dividers for Office Drawer

I am so disappointed that I cannot find a BEFORE picture so you could see the transformation of my office drawer. I don’t know why I would even care to show you how messy I can be except that I like to see others Before and Afters. Do you feel the same?  I love to see how others find solutions to their problems and hope that something I share inspires you, too. This idea for making my own DIY dividers came from Kevin and Amanda’s blog and specifically this post. But my husband wouldn’t hear of just using glue like Kevin & Amanda did on their dividers because he felt…

  • Family Fun for the Holiday’s

What do you do with 29 people for 5 days? (We had that many during the Christmas holiday’s if you recall from my last post.) Every morning at 8:30 all the singles had morning drills and exercises in the walleyball court. The rest of us maybe should have been exercising with them but we took that time to get ourselves together and get breakfast started. Those on the exercise schedule would come to the kitchen to find glasses of water with fresh lime juice. Then it was out to the walleyball court for morning warm-up stretches and exercises, along with walleyball drills and walleyball. As you can see, I did…

  • Christmas 2015

Happy New Year! 2015 is here already. It sure did come along fast! We had an amazing holiday with family. Twenty-nine of us were gathered here at the ranch for 5 days. No, my house isn’t a mansion but when you have people willing to be stuck into every nook and cranny, it works. Russell and I spent our time in the laundry room and I had a sister and her husband stay in our new pantry. Headspace at night for them was a little low (they were partially under the bottom shelves) but they had a little heater in there along with a small lamp and it actually looked…

  • Warm Up Here – A Hot Drink Station

While most would not consider Arizona to have really cold weather, it does say it’s almost winter on the calendar and that means warm weather drinks. Like hot chocolate, chai, or my favorite, mocha cappuccino. So I put together a little hot drink station. Because, although I could serve up hot drinks other ways, this gives it a little more pizazz and it’s just more fun. (I know I’ve shared a hot drink station before with tea, chai & chocolate, but can’t seem to find that post.) I got myself a bottle drying rack some time back to hold my coffee cups and I’ve really enjoyed having it. The chalkboard…
