• Celebrating! – A Homeschool Graduation Party

Apologies for the delay in posting this. We took the Castle Keeper girls on an outing – which you will hear all about at some point! 🙂 The evening of Serenity’s graduation was perfect. No rain, not too hot and not breezy – all things we’ve had to contend with this year. (We’re getting an amazing amount of rain this year – at least for Arizona – and it’s getting so green around here that it’s starting to look like Scotland!) My amazing sister was once again here to help me with everything. She did so much work the day before and with her and a few others in the…

  • Preparing for My Daughter’s Homeschool Graduation

The day that we had been working so hard to prepare our back yard for arrived and most everything that was to be accomplished was completed. What a nice feeling to know that after hours upon hours of work, you are finished (almost). There’s still the kitchen area to be built and some landscaping projects to finish but the bulk of it has been completed! Of course, there was much preparation with over 200 guests coming. So many willing hands were there to assist. Vases had to be filled with water Flowers picked up (Thanks, dad!) and arranged. And that waterfall! More flowers had to be planted. The framework for…

  • Hand Lettering So Good You’ll Be Amazed

If you practice something long enough, you can become quite talented. I was so impressed with the hand lettering at a wedding I was at recently. It was so amazing, one would have thought decals or stencils were used. Before I show you all the beautiful hand lettering, let me tell you a little more about the wedding. (I’m really kind of embarrassed to share these pictures because they’re not that good. I always have my camera with me but not this time and so I was using the mother-of-the-bride’s camera to capture parts of the day for her. Let me tell you, it’s so worth investing in a good…

  • A Beautiful Wedding and Outdoor Reception

We awoke to an overcast sky but that was nothing new. Since we had arrived in Ohio, we had not seen the sun, but this was the wedding day and the reception was to be outdoors. Things did not look good but we were excited anyways about the upcoming day, even if it did rain. And it did. The whole drive to Michigan there was a continuous but gentle rain. About 35 minutes from the church, my husband says, “The alternator is having issues.” Oh, no, this was not a good thing! We pulled off the next exit to get gas because we were on E completely and was fortunate…

  • A Luncheon for 200 Campers

I have survived. There were a few several butterflies in the stomach and some short nights but I made it through! Yesterday we had over 200 people here for a luncheon. There is a youth camp in the area, hosted by a church in Phoenix and it’s been a tradition for several years now that they all come to our place for lunch the day camp is over. To get a big job done, it’s important to have good help. 🙂 And I was thankful for every one of them. My sidekick for events like this and friend for 38+ years. Excuse our disheveled appearance. Maybe we were feeling a…
