Castle Keeper Girls Complete Their Quilts

The Castle Keeper girls were able to finish up the quilts they had begun a few months ago at November’s class. So many beautiful fabrics were chosen by the girls and they learned a lot – from how to cut fabric properly to learning how important it is to sew a straight line, to seeing the different steps that are involved in making a quilt. 🙂 They learned to persevere as they cut squares and sewed them all together.

Tip:  One thing I would encourage all ladies who are wanting to learn to sew is be sure you have a good working machine. Many get discouraged with sewing if their machines continually give them problems. Bobbins can be a big issue. So if you or your daughter wants to learn, find a good working machine.

Another mom taught this class and she brought in a special lady who quilts every day to teach the girls two different ways they could complete their quilt.

Serenity got tendonitis over Thanksgiving in her foot. So since she was on crutches, I have been her legs and nurse. It’s a big job I tell you. A homemaker wears many different hats doesn’t she?

I don’t know exactly how it happened but Miss Serenity was the last one sewing. She was the lonely only at her table for all the others had packed up.

I was so impressed with all the beautiful quilts. Some made doll size quilts and others made crib size but each ones fabrics were expressions of themselves. Bold, bright colors, southwestern prints, softer flowery prints, muted hues. They were all there and it was fun to see how it came together in the end.

The CK girls don’t have a class in December but they love to host a Winter Party each year. This Friday will be the occasion of another one. It was such a fun night last year and we’re looking forward to it once again. Here’s the link to 2016’s Winter Party.

I love hearing from you! Thank you for taking the time to comment.
