Trips We've Made

Enchanted Forests & Wedding Vows

Our days at the ocean over, we continued up the coast. We passed these “enchanted” forests where everything was covered in moss.

I had never seen anything like it before.

Seattle, Washington was an interesting blend of old and new.

After a week traveling up the coast we arrived in Canada for the main reason we were on this trip – the wedding of a family friend.

The day of the wedding arrived and we made haste to get to the church for it started at 10:30am. I’ve never been to a wedding that started that early before but it worked out well actually.

My son, Wesley is the groomsman smack dab in the middle of the line-up.

The reception…

Judah’s brother was one of the ones who lost their life in the plane crash 3 years ago – still such a sorrowful thing to all of us.

I love the new guest book idea that people are using. They make up a photo book that has an empty page along with a large photo on the opposite 2-page layout. Guests can write their name or add to their signature, wishes or a blessing. It’s such a nice keepsake.  Back in my day, we signed a guest book – just a long line of names that you never go back and read and you certainly wouldn’t put it on display, so I think this idea is much better.

All the tables had a homemade apple pie sitting on it that we served ourselves. Later, servers went around dishing up ice cream. It was actually quite a nice idea.

Groomsmen…

Bridesmaids…

The bride and groom sat on a vintage couch for the reception and they wanted to auction it off. The auctioneer was our very own Justus! All his Castle Keeper auctioneering skills came in handy. Here he is auctioning off pies for Castle Keepers his very first time (2014).  I can tell you he has improved a lot and did an excellent job.

And that concludes our journey up the coast. I hope you enjoyed the trip. 🙂

The coastal redwoods were impressive.

There’s always some type of adventure in the making with my hubby.

Newport, Oregon is a great stop, plus we did some crabbing. Fun!

Hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving!
