And Part II of our eastward trek with a van load of kids. Part I is here.

Camp was filled with a variety of activities.

Someone captured this “Bump, Set, Spike” video in which Wesley is the spiker.

And then there were crafts, bread baking classes, softball classes, advanced sewing classes, skits to participate in… There was something for everyone!

And plenty of visiting going on as well.

It’s a little hard to just say goodbye, so we had a little post camp meet-up at Olive Garden.

Finally we got on the road to head back to Arizona. And about 11pm that night ran out of gas only a few miles from our hotel for the night!

A couple of the boys started walking down the road but thankfully a nice man stopped and picked them up, took them to the gas station, brought them back and wouldn’t take a dime for his trouble but said, “God bless you,” as he drove off beeping his horn.

We actually even stopped in Branson, MO on our way home to see the drama “Moses” produced by Sight & Sound. It was amazing and inspiring!

We reached the Arizona border the next day and the kids had a great time pumping their arms trying to get the semis to blow their horns. The truck drivers were very willing and within 15 minutes they had 140 honks from semis and cars.

And after traveling 30+ hours and 1800 miles, we are home!
