Progress Even When Slow is Still Progress

Work on the backyard pergola has been slow but progress has been made and that’s what counts, right?

As per our custom, visitors were put to work. Remember that Havasupai hike I’ve been telling you about? The intrepid hikers have started to arrive and by tonight we’ll have 21 guests staying here at the house.  It’s going to be a good time, I just know it.

Back to the pergola!

Here was our work crew yesterday morning. They only had a few hours to work before breakfast guests arrived and airport runs had to be made but progress was made and that was exciting.

First thing was to place all the support beams where they were supposed to go.

Next is to lift each one and place it into its proper position and then screw it down into the concrete. Or something like that. 😉

There has been a lot of discussion at each step and I couldn’t begin to tell you the obstacles they’ve had to figure out. But my husband is a can-do kind of guy and is able to figure out just about anything.

Sometimes it’s just better to take a break and let them all figure it out.

Unorthodox methods may be used to get the job done….

But in the end… it gets done.

Today I’m betting we’ll see a lot of progress. Our poor guests. They just don’t know what they’re in for.

Shhhh, let’s just keep this little secret between you and me, okay? 🙂

I love hearing from you! Thank you for taking the time to comment.
