Castle Keepers

Tell Me One More Story, Please

Thank you to those who took my short survey. It was very enlightening and interesting to see the results!

Who doesn’t love a good story? At our last Castle Keepers meeting, one of our girls’ mother gave us pointers on how to tell a good story. It’s an interest of hers and she has several books on that topic alone. Who knew there were books just on that subject?

Our teacher keeping our attention upon her story by using hands and plenty of voice inflections.

As you can see the kids were quite engrossed.

Each girl was to bring some type of story… even a personal family story worked.

We learned that a story is similar to keeping a balloon in the air. You gently tap it to keep it aloft until you have finished and then you let it gently settle to the floor.

And after all the stories had been told we sat around the table and had a delicious tea luncheon.

A portion of our delicious goodies.

Our lovely Castle Keeper girls minus three who could not make it.

I thought storytelling to be an interesting topic. It’s not really something you think about learning but there is an art to it. Of course that means you have to practice what you learn on those around you. Stepping out of our comfort zone, maybe. As mothers, we have our own audience – our children – and we know how much they love a good bedtime story. 🙂

Just a consideration.

I would have loved to have heard this presentation. My dad is an awesome story-teller, as is Anna. I’ve told a zillion stories to my kids throughout the years, but always wished I was better at it.

I love hearing from you! Thank you for taking the time to comment.
