The Wedding Day
The wedding day that Austin & Claire had waited for so long such a short time 🙂 finally dawned and outside all was covered with a fresh layer of snow. Beautiful but cold. Brrr.
When we arrived at the church, Claire was there waiting for the moment that she would slip her wedding dress on, even though that was several hours away.
But we had work to do. Although they were having a catered meal, my sister wanted to have appetizers while the guests were waiting for the photographers to finish taking pictures.
This is one of my sister’s. She’s a pro at getting things done in the kitchen.
My niece who read the book Eat that Frog months ago and hasn’t stopped since. Seriously.
While we were busy in the kitchen, there was someone else that was very busy, too.
When I arrived the cake looked like this…
…but in just a short while, it looked like this. Well done.
More shots of the reception hall…
The girls were ready…
the food prepared…
and it was time to start. I barely made it down the aisle before the bride – busy getting my hair done. 🙂
Two of my boys were ushers and they rolled out the white carpet.
Claire’s brother performed the wedding. This was his first and everyone remarked on what an excellent job he did, saying some very important things and showing the importance of the ceremony.
The grand entrance…
Austin’s first look…
This little guy gave his dad a thumb’s up during the ceremony letting him know everything was a-ok. 🙂
The receiving line…
Zachary was a groomsman (2nd from the bottom).
It was a lovely reception although the photographers took WAY too long – 2 hours if you’re wondering. This was their first wedding, so I’m not sure if that was the only problem or not.
I thought the backdrop for Austin and Claire was quite pretty. Curtains had been hung and tied back with pink bows with a lace insert hanging in the middle making an otherwise plain wall look pretty.
The groomsmen. Sorry, Jordan, this is the only one I had. 🙂 Zachary’s in the middle and Austin’s two brothers are on either side of him.
While we were busy enjoying the reception – or maybe it was clean-up time at that point, there were others enjoying themselves, too. Maybe a little too much. lol
Oh, dear…
Even Austin has his doubts…
He was stunned…
Could this be the guilty party, trying to get away?
Nope, here are the two guilty young men, looking ever so innocent.
Austin & Claire made their get-away in quite an orange fashion, returning a short while later when their car started malfunctioning. Lo, and behold it was a spark plug that had come loose. Now, how did that happen?
Look no further than here…
Clean-up is always better when you’re working by someone you think is pretty special…
or friends that stick with you till the end…
Clean-up was finished and we went back to our hosts’ home where we had another good round of fellowship with lots of laughter. Good times.
I really tried to do it. I tried so hard to fit the rest of our trip in this post, as you can tell from the amount of pictures I posted, but I just couldn’t do it. So, part III is coming. 🙂
I think I at least deserve a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup for my efforts, don’t you? 🙂

Thanks so much for posting these beautiful pictures of my daughter’s wedding. But even more, I thank you and your family for the setup and food preparation (which was fabulous and delicious). The wedding wouldn’t have been the same without all that hard work.

Thanks, Deborah. We’re looking forward to spending time with Claire.
