Summer Mantle 2011
Summer Mantle Fun
I took down my Spring Mantle (which was never completed 🙁 ) the other day and then heard I had a crowd headed to my place. (Memorial Day) Not wanting to leave it bare, I needed to get something on my mantle quick. What to do? A few ideas started spinning in my head and in just a short while I was able to complete it and have a lot of fun in the doing.
Close-up…
I cut some branches from our plum tree and placed them in a mason jar. I’m not sure how long they’ll last but there’s plenty more I can cut. The tree desperately needs pruning anyways.
A little further away…
A friend gave me these pioneer pictures after a pioneer homeschool day we had here at our house several years ago.
Old books were placed under the pictures to give them some height.
It is so fun experimenting with different looks. My first mantle-scape (is that a word?) I had for years and years and really liked it but it’s just too much fun experimenting with new looks to leave one again for that length of time… at least not for a long while. One should never say never, right?
