God’s Hand of Protection Through a Tornado

Joplin, MO tornado

I just heard about the tornado that hit Joplin, MO yesterday. There have been 122 people confirmed dead.

Loulla Belle was there and writes of her experience and shares many pictures of the damage left by the tornado. Keep them in prayer as they go about finding people and their belongings.

What a hard, hard thing for the people of Joplin.

Luke 12:6-7 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

we captured photos of some ominous cloud formations above our little farm, perhaps the same clouds from missouri blown north. i can only imagine how such terrible weather can uproot dreams. so sad but daily increases my thankfulness and decreases my personal concerns.

I’m glad to hear you home was not touched. I cannot imagine the terror one would feel going through an experience like this.

Elisabeth – Well said. I can’t even bring myself to look at the pictures. I will just be so sad with grief, but Earth is not our home and our treasures should be in Heaven. (I say that to remind myself). Our property in Ohio sustained minor damage, but I have NO DOUBT that God kept us safe from much worse. In the mist of that storm I only cared about my family. Possessions were forgotten.

I have to say from my experience in traveling to Louisiana for Hurricane Katrina it is somewhat amazing the blessings that come out of tragedy… in ways we just can’t imagine or fathom…

I love hearing from you! Thank you for taking the time to comment.
