Review of Close-Up (Art Card Games)
Can be purchased at Birdcage Press for $9.95/set
This is a great little card game I picked up last Spring when visiting Colorado. The deck I have are paintings that can all be found at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, California.
Included in the game are 48 cards. One card will be a picture of a famous painting, with the name of the painting and its artist printed on the front, and its match will be a close-up of a part of the painting with no title or artist mentioned.
What I really like about this game is how it makes you really look at the details. Typically I’ll look at a painting and see the overall picture but not pay attention to the small details. The games included in Close-Up will challenge you to notice the individual aspects.
Included are suggestions for 4 different games and another one for a Treasure Hunt when you visit the J. Paul Getty Museum.
There are 5 different sets you can buy – each one covering art from a different art museum in the United States.
It’s a fun way to introduce you and your children to great artists and their paintings. I give this product a thumbs up.
