Our Family

A Sandy Splashing Time

We were off on Monday for a 3 day getaway to Lake Powell – one of the most beautiful lakes.  I did take our Nature Journals along.  They weren’t overly excited about taking the time to sketch something but of course, looking back at their drawing they’ll be quite happy, I’m sure.  (I like to think positively.)

Here was our home away from home for three days.  Don’t you love when you have all your sweethearts close-by at night?

Our camp was set up at the base of this rock that Seth climbed.  Can you see the white speck at the top?  That’s him.

A close-up.

Zachary doing some fishing.

Does anyone actually have any luck fishing?!  The boys spent several hours at it and caught one.  They could see the fish come up to their bait and then swim away laughing at them.

No drivers license required here, much to dd9’s delight and

to this little guy’s (age 4) great joy.

Wesley, looking pretty serious about the business of staying on.

Seth, my now 17 year old as of Sunday.

Wesley trying to teach his sister (unsuccessfully) how to get up on a wake board.  As sweet as the picture looks this did not go over well with sister.   She was not feeling overly brave in the deeper water.

You can see where the waterline on the rocks used to be.  Too many dry years in Arizona and not enough moisture.

Daddy and his little girls.

Now, it’s time to do laundry and get back into our routine.  (Routine?  What’s that?  Oh yes, think positively!)

That picture of your son on the rock is amazing. My husband likes to rock climb, but that rock looked pretty difficult.

Wonderful pics….makes me wish for such a great getaway. Lake Powell is beautiful.

What a lovely vacation! Did your son scale the FACE of that cliff, or somewhere other than where he's pictured? There doesn't seem to be enough texture to that thing to climb it!

What a grea time! My son used to rock climb at your son's age. And I am very lucky at catching fish (well trout anyway) The time of day matters. Just before the sun goes down when all the bugs are dancing on the water and use kernel corn and marshmellows on your hook!

It looks like you had a blast!

    because of Jesus, Bobbie
