• Taking Our Last Walk Around London

The London Underground system is quite complex and the way most Londoners get around. Adding up all the lines it is 250 miles in length. We never rented a car while there, we just rode the “tube”. There are ideas for all types of small businesses and I’m always very interested to see what creative and entrepreneurial minds have thought of. These 3 businesses were some we saw when we were finding our way out of the subway stations. They are all located near exits going into the street but are for those that are busy commuting to work and home every day. The Oats, etc. Cafe open for breakfast……

  • Visiting the Chapel and Home of a Tremendous Man of God

When John Wesley outgrew the Foundry (his first church) he purchased the land where Wesley’s Chapel is located today.  “I look upon all the world as my parish.” –John Wesley   When first built there was no stained glass inside the chapel but over time, the church that still meets at Wesley’s Chapel today has replaced some of the windows with stained glass. The pillars are original as well as the pews. Can you imagine that all these pews were hand-made? I thought these extra seats that slide out of the pew were really clever. We were able to go inside John Wesley’s 3 story home which is adjacent…

  • Goodbye, Norway – Hello, England

Before we left Paradise Sauda, Norway and our gracious hosts… …Russell was hard at work securing us lodging in London for that night. This is important to our story as you will find out later. Notice the view from his “desk”.  So peaceful. After successfully bidding on a room via Priceline for London that night, we left since we had a 3 hour drive to get to the airport. Of course, the scenery along the drive was beautiful. Vegetable Stand (rows of berries in the back) Heather growing along the road.   We took a 30 minute ferry ride which was a novel experience for us.   It was quite…

  • A Visit to Paradise — Sauda, Norway

Well we are getting close to finishing up these travel posts. Maybe only 2 more. Sorry to have dragged it out for so very long! Leaving Nevlunhavn, Norway, we traveled about 4.5 hours north to Sauda which is located in the beautiful mountains of Norway. It was a lovely drive. On the way we had to stop at a gas station, but which one is gas and which is diesel? Thankfully, there was someone that could speak enough English to know what we were saying and were able to direct us. While sitting there, waiting for the car to be filled, we saw this advertisement…. Have you ever had a…

  • The Domestic Side of Things in Norway

Being a homemaker, I always enjoy seeing how others do things in their homes. I especially love when they are creative and use their role as homemakers to express that creativity. So come along with me and I’ll show you how some homemakers are doing it in Norway.  We didn’t have much time in the town of Nevlunghavn, Norway. We really only spent a day-and-a-half there but we packed as much as we could in that day, as you read about here. Our host’s home. Doesn’t this look so homey and comfortable? The girls enjoying their breakfast on the porch. The weather was gorgeous and time seemed to move at…
