• A Simple Method for Making Marbled Stationary

The Castle Keeper girls have a really fun challenge this month that I thought I’d share with you. They were to make stationary using one of two methods. One of the methods was using shaving cream. The results were beautiful and the method the most simplest of things to do. Paper Marbling using Shaving Cream To do this you will need: cardstock paper food coloring shaving cream ruler or some other straight edge   This video tutorial is really good sans the music! Be sure to turn your volume off! Here are some of the stationary pieces the Castle Keeper girls have made this month. One of my daughter’s stationary……

  • The Castle Keeper Girls Host A Holiday Party

The Castle Keeper girls wanted to have a Holiday Party and I said, “Sure… but you girls have to do all the planning. I’ll find the place to have it and you all do the rest.” I really loved the camaraderie the girls showed by each one taking on an aspect of the party and planning it. They worked really well as a team. Rebekah made the invitations and kept on top of all the RSVP’s. Trisha set the atmosphere with beautiful Christmas music she curated. She also organized and made a great many of the desserts. Serenity (on the right) planned the menu and made some of the food…

  • The Mystery Culinary Challenge

A surprise ingredient or theme, cooking, finding new recipes… Those are the 3 elements that make up the Mystery Culinary Challenge the Castle Keepers have to do each month. It’s a spin off of the television show called Master Chef Junior. In that show, they are given a mystery ingredient and once that is revealed, they are to make up a dish using it… all in a certain amount of time. Then the judges taste the dish and decide which contestants will stay for the next level and which are let go. With the Castle Keeper girls, we aren’t so involved because each of the girls complete the challenge…

  • A New Castle Keeper Year Has Begun

Our 3rd year of Castle Keepers has begun. Well, it actually began a few months ago. We have 29 girls involved in the club now but only 11 of them are local.  Most of our members are located far away from our state of Arizona. It has been really wonderful to see the girls getting their challenges done and encouraging one another with their projects. Fall means cooler weather and it also means it’s time to find a tree that you can pick apples from here in Arizona, so we started the year off here locally learning how to make applesauce and apple butter. September “…he kept him as the…

  • Visiting a Piece of History Past with the Castle Keeper Girls

It was a memorable two days. Nine girls, one boy, along with Russell and I, took the Castle Keeper girls on their end-of-year-outing. A two-day Arizona road trip to places we’ve never seen before. Taking along our cowgirl apparel. On the road! Our first stop was the Petrified Forest. Not a standing forest by any means but one where trees are lying on the ground or even in pieces here and there. Evolutionists say it took millions of years for the trees to become fossilized, (That’s some kind of dating system, don’t you think? lol) but there are creationists that believe it could have happened during Noah’s flood. There is…
