A Merry Christmas with Family
Hello friends, how was your Christmas? We had a great time with family. It was quite busy with there being 33 of us here.
For the weekend, Serenity put together a hot drink station using my Hoosier cabinet. I love this piece of furniture!
Chalkboard signs are so fun.
My oldest son, Seth arrived home from Canada on Friday night. The kids excitedly ran outside to greet him that night when he drove in. He drove 30 hours with only 6 hours sleep to make it here by Friday night.
Christmas Eve it started snowing and I was outside grilling… for about an hour!
Family started to arrive…after awhile. Some got stuck on our road. Too much moisture made our road muddy and in some areas really difficult to navigate without 4-wheel drive.
My dad with two of his great grandsons. I love the difference in eye color of the two wee ones.
For Christmas Eve we had a bruschetta bar. It was so much fun and my sister did an awesome job with the presentation of it. I’ll do a complete post on that and the ingredients I purchased to put it together in a later post.
We had a jar of butterscotch candies for everyone to guess how many were in there. The one closest to the right amount without going over won.
My nephew won. 🙂
But I had a 2nd place prize, too, which my niece won.
Gifts were opened while the snow continued to fall.
Visits to see the cabin (VRBO) were made.
Precious times together…

You’re so inspiring, Elisabeth! You need to print all the blogs and make a book. I’ll be the first to buy for some good reading. Loved the whole family photo. What a lovely family to treasure. LOVED the snow on the cabin. How ROMANTIC that photo looks! Love your decor style for out there. How fun to have the snow falling while you’re together as a family. I just love that! Thanks for posting.

I’ve never seen inside your hoosier cabinet before 🙂 I’ve used mine for a drink station as well! Chalkboards will ALWAYS remind me of you. Did you make your apple cider homemade? For having driven that many hours, Seth looks great! I LOVE his big smile! WOW! You’re quite the trooper! You were out there for an hour in the snow? It was probably a peaceful out there. 🙂 Your dad never ages! Great pic there! Are you sure that was YOUR bruschetta bar?? (just teasin) That looks like right out of a magazine! I love it! Lydia is a DOLL!!!! Everyone looks so happy and full of joy! What a special time! God bless you all!

Thanks for all the kind words, Joane.
No, we didn’t make our apple cider. Trader Joe’s makes a really good one that we purchased.

What game were they playing? looks interesting. That picture of your light outside would make a beautiful card!
Elisabeth
The game with the round cards is called Spot It. Lots of fun and a very quick game that challenges your mind. I love playing it.
