Our Family,  Trips We've Made

A Canadian/American Wedding

Well here it is. I wasn’t planning on posting about a wedding we went to in Canada last month, but my sister’s getting after me again(!) for not sharing more pictures – apparently my organizational posts don’t do much for her… so here we go! 🙂

The five of us that are home (my boys are in the bush (wilderness) of Canada far from any phone contact) flew to Saskatoon, Canada for a wedding of good friends of ours.

There were quite a few that came from Arizona and going and coming we were on the same flight as some of our Arizonan friends.

Since we don’t have a television in our home, sometimes the kids can become quite enthralled when they are around one… to the point where they will watch anything… even news. And with a 5 hour layover, with not much to do… you can imagine the rest.

We arrived in Saskatoon at some unearthly hour but the next day we met up with old friends for dinner. Friends from Arizona & British Columbia.

Morning dawned of the next day – the day of the wedding – and we met up with friends from Canada for breakfast/lunch at a very quaint little restaurant that is quite popular. My childhood friend from Arizona was also attending the wedding so we took her along with us to The Berry Barn.

It was the perfect day for a wedding. The day before was rainy and the day after it was cold. But this day was beautiful.

The wedding was held at the bride’s home in the country where they have plenty of acreage.

At the wedding American & Canadian flags were given. After the wedding was over, they asked everyone to line the driveway as the couple left for photos.

The reception was lovely and the food delicious.

There was no cake – just a myriad of pie choices. I like that much better than cake and thought it fit in very well with the outdoor setting.treasuringthemoments.net

The bride looked absolutely gorgeous! I like the unique attire of her bridesmaids…different, yet fitting for the location.

Thanks for posting, Elisabeth, and thanks Rebekah for getting on to her. I too love all your trip postings and organizational skills. The flags were a neat effect and easily showed the support for the wedding too. What a lovely wedding and so happy for all the family. It was a very beautiful and fitting setup.

I love hearing from you! Thank you for taking the time to comment.
