A Collage of Days
My sister tells me I need to get posting. I don’t think I’ve had been in such a writers slump since I began my blog oh, so many years ago.
“Nothing too heavy,” says the same sister. “Your last posts have been on the heavy side. I like pictures.”
So here we go. Snippets of my life from the last several weeks as captured by pictures.
Some visitors were wanting a picture of our family so I decided I needed one, too. So often these days, one is gone here or there, so to have everyone together is pretty nice.
The Castle Keeper challenge in January was photo themes. Audrey became the subject matter for her sisters challenge.
This was one of the many that didn’t make the cut.
Here they were trying to capture “Movement”.
This one didn’t make the cut either but the theme for this picture was “Bundled Up”.
By this time we had no snow and it was actually pretty hot outside. 🙂
We have a friend who gives flying lessons and he likes to bring his students for a fly-by pretty often.
This particular day he landed. Dusty, oh yes! But we still loved it.
We’ve had a strange illness go through our goat herd recently. Audrey gave it her best trying to keep these 2 kids alive.
Unfortunately, they didn’t survive.
The mystery culinary challenge for the Castle Keeper girls last month was to make a recipe with coffee.
Serenity made Toasted Coconut Chocolate Coffee Bark…
and Coffee Meringues… both of which, sad to say, were fails. 🙁
They didna taste so good… but the baker thought the meringues not so bad, so she polished off every. single. one. of them!
Serenity and her friends biked 7 miles to a little town near us. They’ve opened up a little cafe there in a historic building, so the girls went and had lunch there.
Then they biked through the town, making a quick stop at the post office where they made some of the postal employees, that didn’t recognize Serenity right away, a little nervous when they rode up to the back door and started to empty out their backpacks of books to be shipped! A ride to the bank to make a deposit… and through it all they got to see how friendly a small town can be as they met the different shop owners who were homeschooling moms and only too eager to visit with the girls.
Look! It’s Hudson who’s now 2 months old.
Audrey (10) and Shalom (17 months)
And I just saw these pictures you might like. Remember that wedding we went to in Congo? Well at the beginning of the year the father of the bride gave a New Year’s Party that we attended. They really know how to throw a fancy shindig!
It was a huge feast with every meat option available that you could almost imagine.
The newlyweds who are just a really great couple.
Brothers of the newlyweds.
