Forgot Something? Making it Easy for Your Guests
Family is coming for Thanksgiving and I’m so excited to be hosting all of them here at my house for a few days. Someday I hope to be like my sister who always has a gift bag for every single person that comes to stay at her house. In the gift bag she puts all kinds of snack items and most usually a water bottle. If you find me missing when I’m at her house and wonder where I am, you would be safe to assume I’m sneaking a few bites of the goodies that she has so generously given. 🙂
Whenever she or someone from their family comes to visit they always bring a gift(s). It makes me feel terrible because these things never really cross my mind when I go somewhere and if they do, I’m usually paralyzed with wondering what exactly should I get for my hosts. And you know how indecision is the killer of many great ideas. So, that’s usually what happens to my ideas. They d.i.e. Sad, but true.
Another idea that I think is a good one is guest bedroom baskets in which you place items guests may have forgotten. Most suggest purchasing travel size items.
On the hopes that if I peruse Pinterest I’ll get some great ideas and most importantly inspiration to follow through, I’m going to share with you my favorite suggestions for things to put in guest bedroom baskets that I found online.
- magazines (I like the idea of a devotional book)
- bottles of water
- little snacks for those night time munchies
- moisturizer
- lip balm
- lotion
- mints
- tissues
- shampoo and conditioner
- hairspray
- toothbrush, toothpaste, floss
- mouthwash
- soap
- wet wipes
- deodorant
- q-tips
- sunscreen
- first aid supplies
- razors for shaving and creams
- hair brushes
Presentation is all part of it. It wouldn’t look quite the same if I had these items sitting in a plastic bag, would it? So a pretty basket or other container would be fitting.
Now the question is… can I get it together? haha  We shall see. I have 2 days. I’ll let you know!
