My Family, My Valentine’s
It’s been Valentine’s week for us. Like last year, we’re running a little late but we just have to roll with that sometimes, right? Life is not served up to us in neat tidy boxes but is constantly changing and arriving on our doorstep in all different shapes and sizes. For those of us who like structure and routine, it can be disconcerting but we don’t ever want to become so set in our ways that we can’t enjoy what is happening at the moment.
The first day I put salt n vinegar chips (a family favorite) in all their mailboxes with the caption on their bag of “You Make Me Feel Chipper.”
And then we had a repeat (I was told) of previous years. It was gummi-bear multi-vitamins with the caption, “I love you “beary” much.”
I didn’t get a picture of this but I purchased some Apple Caramel Pops and attached a little pennant that said, “I’m So Proud of You, I Could ‘Pop’.”
Then there was the day we had a sparkling drink.
“You Add “Sparkle” to Our Lives”
Bliss dark chocolate candies were just the thing to say,
“It’s ‘Bliss’ having you for a Son.” Or a “Daughter”, or a “Husband”.
Audrey was so precious. Since I didn’t have a mailbox, she made me one from a tissue box.
Children in their simplicity are amazingly special and dear to our hearts, are they not?
And then she had to find the extra candies, chips, etc. that I had given them and make up little bags for me. She made all the labels to look just like what I had given them.
It was so sweet of her that my eyes started leaking some kind of moisture. 🙂
We mom’s are so blessed to have these precious treasures.

Love all your ideas and also love when kids want to give too. So sweet! It’s fun to include the whole family in a Valentines Day!
