My Pantry Before and After
The moment the paint was cured enough for me to put my items back into my pantry I began. It had been 4 days for part of the shelves and 5 days for the others. It is really hard to cook when your counters are covered.
I had been wanting to move some things around in my kitchen and pantry and with everything out of the pantry, it made it much easier and possible.
So here is the finished result.
And a few more…
For my canned goods, I used my own DIY shelf organizer. It woks lovely! Showing you the goods in my pantry you’re able to see all the not-so-healthy items I do keep on hand. I’m found out! haha!
The other half of the pantry.
That bottom shelf doesn’t look so good but it hold vases, water bottles and supplies for our goat milking. Things you want to keep on hand but that can look like clutter. And yes, that is red wine on the bottom shelf. I do use wine for cooking occasionally. 😉
My garlic I keep in a bowl that my father-in-law purchased in Mexico on one of his missionary trips. This shelf is mainly filled with spices and other items used in cooking.
Cookie Cutters are stored in a basket on my baking shelf. My baking shelf holds everything associated with making cookies, cakes, candies, etc.
I used an old beat-up pie tin to hold extracts and jello products. I feel guilty for having those jello items – like I’m setting a bad example or something. 🙂 My excuse — they are only very rarely used.
My basket solution is still working quite nicely.
This one area I did not touch. It’s our wall of heights and has been chronicling our children’s heights for 11 years. I’m thinking I would like to make a growth chart ruler and transfer all the markings to it. (oops there’s still some masking tape around my bag holder)
Right under the bag holder I added a nail to hold paper bags and reusable grocery bags. I’m curious to see if it will be useful.
And a little book we came across in our book buying that I couldn’t resist.
And because I love before and after’s here are a few from this space.
So tell me how you organize your pantry. Do you ever find you end up with too much stuff?
Is the Second Law of Thermodynamics alive and well at your house? 🙂

My Grandma Sanger had that same old cookbook. My sister Kate has it now.

How neat that the same cookbook is in your family. I wonder if your grandma cooked from it? Did you know that I met Grandma Sanger on a trip to Israel?

Thanks for keeping on trying, Lily. 🙂 Well, I help your parishioners understand you having a collection of wine. Three different types. My, my. Just kidding, my dear Lily.
Some of the goodies in my pantry I don’t use for our family generally – it’s when I’m making a certain something for a get-together that I’ll purchase “junk” type stuff.

Lol! They haven’t asked and I’m not telling any secrets. 😉 I have a lot of unhealthy items in my “pantry” too, simply because I have to run to the store for them every time we have company if I don’t keep it stocked. Makes it difficult to eat healthy at times, but that’s the way it goes.

O.K., this is my 4th try! I love the bowl your garlic is in.
Had to laugh about your wine…we have red, white and communion wine. We actually made communion wine for the 1st time this fall…I was sincerely hoping the house didn’t smell like a winery! 😉
At least you have Bragg’s liquid aminos…that should counteract all the “unhealthy” jello, shouldn’t it?!
Nice job!

Yes. I remember that. 🙂

Don’t change the growth markings….it’s priceless! We have one in our basement. Love your changes and glad to know everyone has some unhealthy things now and then. 🙂

It’s hard to stay away from the “bad” stuff 100%! Hope you and your honey had a Happy Valentine’s Day. We’ll be celebrating this week since we had company all last week.
