The Keepers of the Castle Learn How to Make Tamales
While the Castle Defenders were battling the wind and sun, the Castle Keepers were indoors making tamales. But before they started their cooking class, we paused for a sampling of the many salsas that had been prepared for our monthly challenge.
There were 9 different salsas to try.Made by these 8 future homemakers. (1 girl was unable to make it, but we made her salsa so everyone could try it)
Some of the aprons that were made in the month prior.
After the tasting, the girls then got busy learning how to make tamales.
Plenty of tamales to last each family a couple of meals.
The girls were given these recipe cards at the end of the day. So cute!
October’s Monthly Challenge is to exercise 20 minutes, 4 days per week beginning October 6 & ending November 6. For those who like to walk, ride bikes, etc, this is the last little bit before it can get pretty cold here in Arizona. (Cold for us Arizonans anyways! 🙂 ) Join in if you like and challenge yourself!
November’s class will here at our place and I’ll be doing the teaching. Our topic, “The Gift of Friendship”. More on that next month.
Have a good day and don’t forget October’s Challenge if you dare to take it up. Let’s get moving! 🙂

So neat! The aprons are beautiful and the salsa looks fabulous. Getting the ingredients together to make our tamales!

Can’t wait to hear about your tamale adventure. I was wondering if they sold the ingredients back there.
