A Four Thousand Mile Road Trip
We just arrived home from youth camp. It was a really enjoyable time. Here’s a quick overview of the trip.
Before the trip began. All fresh and ready to hit the road.
The campground was at a new location and overall, I think it’s better.
There was a zipline that almost all of us ladies had to try. Of course, there was lots of screaming. 🙂
Excellent preaching – I really liked the object lesson here.
Because I was a worker at the camp, Audrey was able to be a camper. She had a great time joining in on the activities, and reciting and singing with her dorm in the little tabernacle, which is for the younger kids.
Justus was baptized by his Uncle Jon.
Camp ended and we headed for a wedding that was set in the garden of a stately old house that was built in the 1920’s. I can’t remember the name of the place, unfortunately.
We did get to visit the family that started growing flowers by the thousands. The kids even got to have a swim.
The yard is spectacular.
After a fun visit and tour of the greenhouse operation, we headed out for Illinois where we got a quick visit in with mom and dad, did some laundry and was able to get a little rest!
Then it was on to Branson, MO where we went to Sight & Sound’s showing of Joseph then supper at the Hook & Ladder (an old firehouse) for some pizza.
After a very long time on the road – it felt like we drove days and days, we arrived home.
A great trip with no problems except for the 2 times we ran out of gas.
Crazy but true and fyi, we don’t carry gas cans along with us. Maybe we should start. 🙂

4,000 miles?! You must be so glad to be home! It was nice to see you, wish it could have been longer, though.
