A Romantic Tablescape
Today’s romantic tablescape for two was a nice diversion from my usual settings for 8. This tablescape presented its own challenges since the table was quite small and it was easy to get everything too squeezed together, and as always I seem to get stumped when it comes to centerpiece ideas.
Here are the components that made up the two table settings. I started with red plates I found on clearance at Kmart, with a smaller plate that has a tiny flower print purchased when my husband and I went to Scotland several years ago and lastly an even smaller clear dish given to me by a friend.
I thought it would be fun to incorporate Scrabble letters. This one says, “Sweetheart.”
These Scrabble tiles say “I Love You.”
I placed red stone marbles into an apothecary jar with 2 Kisses sitting on top.
The overall tablescape.

What a sweet table for two! I love the Scrabble tiles idea. Your stacked plates look great — I wish we still had a K-Mart here!

This is a darling table and I absolutely LOVE the idea of Scrabble tiles spelling out a sweet message. Where on earth did you find red ones?
Elisabeth
Thanks Pattie. The Scrabble pieces were part of the Scrabble game we’ve had around here for several years.

Thanks. I’ve really not seen red ones before, but I suppose some painted addition could be made to regular tiles, like painting the edges red and then making tiny pink hearts. I’ll come up with something. This is really a great idea and I thank you for sharing it.

Hi Elisabeth,
Just got your email, sometimes I forget to check it everyday. Plus I have been busy putting away the Christmas stuff and redecorating everything.
