For many people offering hospitality is a daunting prospect. There are many excuses offered such as, "I don’t know how to cook," My house is too small," or "My husband and I are not extroverts. What would we talk about?"

My family and I practice hospitality quite often but I still enjoy reading books on the subject. It’s very easy to get in the "me" mindset. What’s in it for me? Karen encourages us to stop looking at ourself and to look at the big picture. God knows the big picture and why He has chosen to send someone our way so that we can be a blessing. This book will inspire you to take "what is in your hand", be it a hobby, skill or interest and to bless others with it.

One idea I thought sounded particularly fun was to have a Mystery Dinner. Invite a couple or family over for supper but have them invite someone else to come along with them. It could even be a stranger.
