My Mom's Skills Displayed
Aren’t these dresses beautiful? All made by my mother who says she cannot sew. I can’t imagine what she could make if she knew how to sew.
This is not the best picture with all the sun spots but these are the dresses they wore while in Virginia. My little colonial girls.
She’s made several dresses for Serenity’s doll.
Matching nightgowns.
Sewing, at this point in my life, is not a big interest for me. I’m so glad my mom enjoys it. We really benefit from her skills. When my mom comes to visit I always ask her to do my mending for me. If she didn’t do my mending my kids would probably outgrow it by the time I got to it. After mom mends their things they feel like they’ve just got a new shirt/pants because it’s been so long since they’ve seen it. Mothers still take care of us after we’re all grown up.
Thanks mom!

Just browsing through the blogs on here and found yours and wanted to comment. Wow, tell your mom the dresses are beautiful. I sew but not like that. I have 3 boys and only one daughter who is nine and she would love a dress like the one your girls wore in the top photo. So girly 🙂

Oh my! Those are absolutely beautiful!!!
My daughter has an American Girl doll, too and I have tried to sew an outfit for her, but the only thing that turned out was the hat – LOL!
I'm glad you had a good time on your trip, and your puppies are adorable!!!
You had asked about my surgery…I had a breast reduction 😉
Blessings,

The dresses are beautiful. I love to sew, but I'm not as good as your mother. I'm learning how to quilt (not going well.)
My area is the kitchen: I enjoy canning, cooking, and baking.
Enjoyed your post. Stop in when you can.
