A Special Sunday
On December 31st we had our youngest child AE, age 1 dedicated. Our church is meeting right now at a senior center and so we thought to make it feel more special we would have the dedication here at our home. We invited the people from church to join us (about 40-50 of them). Another friend of mine also had her two little girls dedicated at the same time.
Afterwards we had lunch which consisted of two types of soup, curry made by my friend from South Africa, salad, rolls and various desserts.
I was thrilled that my mom and dad were still here in Arizona for the holidays. My husband’s parents live in the area and so they were here as well.
My mom made AE’s dress. She did a fabulous job and really labored over it. What a treasure for my little girl to keep.

I’m having AE’s 1-year picture taken in this dress. Hopefully the photographers will be able to capture the details of the dress better then I could the day she wore it.
He Has Lost His Baby Ways
Not long, alas! Not long; the mother-heart
Knows well how quickly she will have to part
With all this wonder; she who tries each art
to lure him on; the first to coax and praise
Each added grace; then first in sore amaze
To mourn that he has lost his baby ways!

What a beautiful dress! She'll be able to keep it and pass it down to her children. I still have clothes that my Mom sewed for me when I was a baby.
