Photos of our Elk Hunt – October, 2006
Well I am finally able to get some of our hunting pictures posted. If you want to read about our elk hunting trip it's here under the title Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig.
The first night at camp everyone brings enough soup for their family and then we set it up like a smorgasbord and get to try all the different soup's.
At hunting camp we have a great time -the kids get to do some puttering around on the quads (when they're not being used for hunting),
play with friends
and cousins (WE age 11, EJ age 10).
We even got to celebrate my dad's 69th birthday. (That's my mom to the left.)
WE with his first elk. (I apologize if this is distasteful to anyone.)
ZJ, the one on the left got his first elk this year too. My boys sure love the outdoors and hunting.
A good time was had by all UNTIL some kind of bug started making the rounds. On the way home we had to make a few stops. (You can tell I'm really commiserating with them. I'm busy snapping pictures. Shame on me!)
Traditions are so nice. We've been having elk hunting camps for several years. It has been a wonderful way for us to gain shared experiences with different people and form a common bond. On Sunday's we have church in the woods and that has always been a special time.
God writes the gospel not in the Bible alone, but on trees and flowers and clouds and stars. ~Martin Luther
I am so thankful that we live in a country where we have places we can go to enjoy nature and get our year's supply of meat.
