Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig
There were about 40 of us that went camping this past Thursday. Ten of the campers had elk tags which is a prized tag in Arizona. It's prized because the elk are usually bugling and it makes for easier hunting since you can locate them a little more effortlessly.
When they're bugling it's a sign that they are in the rut (mating season). The bulls bugle to each other as a challenge because they are wanting to gather more cows in their herd. The bull elk are beautiful with their antlers and to hear them bugle is awesome.
The Arizona Game & Fish pushed the season back another week so the elk were almost out of the rut and therefore not bugling. This made for much tougher hunting. My 2 boys, WE age 11, and ZJ age 14, were able to tag out along with 3 others. (I would show some pictures but I can't get the other computers Internet connection working.)
On Friday, one of the ladies got a flu bug. She was feeling great and then next thing we knew she was vomitting. Sunday morning another girl got sick. Sunday night four others were sick. It was like an epidemic. People would be feeling perfectly fine and then out of the blue they were sick. On Monday, six people were ill.
Thankfully, it didn't seem to be that bad of a bug. Some were only sick the one night and doing fine the next morning. It wasn't the water or food because there were two people that had been sick previous to their coming.
My son , JM age 3, was sick Sunday night. IN MY BED. We managed to clean it all up fairly well. (That's why you take a lot of wet wipes!)
What was so ironic was that AE age 11 months, had been waking up every night a couple of times. My mom and I were sharing the queen size bed with her so we were quite tired out from lack of sleep. Well, she must have been too because this was the first night she did not wake up! She never stirred when the light came on, when there was all the hustle and bustle of getting a garbage can and cleaning up after JM Our one night when we could have slept!
As it was, between my son and his cousin, who was also staying in the trailer and was sick in the night, we were awake every few hours.
Like the little pig, on Monday when it was time to come home, I was almost doing a jig. I love going out in the woods every year to camp while others hunt, but home sounded pretty good this year.

UPDATE: AE age 11 months, is under the weather this morning. What a strong bug. Is anyone else having this go through their home?

Sounds like quite an adventure in a lot of different ways! I hope all are feeling better now. Great experience for the boys to get to do some hunting. And your pumpkin cake recipe sounds yummy!
