Our Family

This Mouse is Fixin' to Play

Very early this morning my hubby and 3 oldest boys left for an antelope hunt. WE, age 11, was drawn for this hunt. The odds of being drawn are below 10% so they are all quite envious of WE’s opportunity. They won’t be back for a couple of days.

Why is it, when they have to clean their rooms everyday, that it can get totaled so quickly. I go in there this morning and find:

6 shirts (WE‘s, all in bottom of closet)

2 pants (WE’s again)

2 pairs of dirty socks

2 birthday cards

Hand-weights

Kleenex

Chess piece

Racquet (used for latest sport at our house – swatting wasps)

Orange hunting vest (don’t they need this?)

Ball cap

Belt

Glass w/ a bit of watery orange juice left in it (spill waiting to happen)

Undies (clean or dirty – who know’s? around here it could be either)

Hangers

Card for AE (this card was in my room – how did it end up in there?)

Stuffed moose

Pair of socks (uhmmm – these are yours truly’s [said with a sheepish look])

I feel a little ‘heart to heart’ conversation – mostly on the finding of 6 shirts in the bottom of the closet – might be in order next week.

But while they’re gone, well, you know the saying, “When the cat’s away the mice will play.” My mind has been whirling with the all the things I can do that I haven’t been able to get to lately. What first? Quilting, work on my blog (I’d love to design my own template, if I can figure it out), clean house, call some friends, bake, read. I’d probably collapse from exhaustion if I attempted to have all this fun at once. So, maybe I’ll begin slow and easy, like start the morning off reading all my favorite blogs eat a little breakfast and then who knows? The day holds a lot of possibilities. Off I go!

Oh…I know what you mean. It sure does not take long for things to get messy!

I hope you have a nice time while they are away.
