Africa Day Update

Yes, folks, I survived our Africa day. You’ve probably wondered what happened

to me after complete silence for a week and a half but there just wasn’t enough

time to sit down and write a coherent thought. Our last guest departed last night.

We had a wonderful turn-out for our Africa day, approximately 270 people were

here. The night before the big event I got stomach cramps and I was feeling a bit

shaky. I guess my nerves just wanted to let me know that they were alive and well.

During the night I would wake and be fine for a while and then when I started to

think of the morrow I would get cramps once again.

My husband does his best work under pressure, so he says. That morning he was

busy from 7:00 till about 2:00 trying to complete the set-up where Brian Jones

would be speaking. We had 24 people staying at our house, so that morning we

kept everybody busy doing some type of clean-up, setting-up and anything else that

came to our mind.

People were to arrive at 2:30 and the talk “God in Creation” was to begin at

about 3:15.

When people arrived my son ZJ gave them popcorn he had made.

I am happy to say that although my house was totaled from having 270 people traipsing through it, the whole afternoon went incredibly smooth. All my worries were for naught.

We had the presentation

 and then served dinner afterwards.

We had the food out on the tables in about 10 minutes. I had selected certain ladies to keep an eye on the tables, to refill bowls and to replace empty pans of enchiladas with new ones. We had 3 serving tables set up with the same foods on each table. People could go down both sides of the table. We served the people in no time. It was quicker than any wedding I’ve ever been to. I was quite pleased.

When it was dark people that needed to leave were free to go; the rest of us sat around a campfire and heard stories of close encounters with the wild animals of Africa and part of Brian Jones' testimony of how he became a Christian.

Brian Jones and his wife are fascinated by everything.  Here Bro. Brian is intently examining a light stick.

Everyone had a great time and were very appreciative. Brian Jones was fascinating and had everyones full attention (except for the small children who played in the grass).
