Weaving
My daughter is using the Greenleaf Guide to Old Testament for her History. I decided not to follow Ambleside Online’s suggestion of Our Island Story because I felt my daughter needed to be grounded more in the Bible stories and history of the Old Testament. 30-Day Organizational Challenge Begins!
Laura at I’m an Organizing Junkie is hosting a 30-Day Organizational Challenge which you can join up and do anytime this month. It ends November 30. There’s a chance for you to win a lot of great prizes so if you have an area or room that you want to declutter, now’s the time! For myself, I decided to tackle the cabinet in my children’s bathroom. Spend a few minutes alone with each child this week, giving him your undivided attention during that time. Make sustained, loving eye contact with your child. So often we use this important means of communication as a tool of discipline. (THE LOOK!) Today, use your eyes to communicate unconditional love. (Taken from a note posted on a…

Our Not-So-Relaxing Sunday Afternoon Drive
What we had envisioned was not reality. It happened like this. Our daughter Serenity went home with my parents from hunting camp and spent a week with them. The time came to go pick her up. Zachary has his driving permit now as of 2 weeks ago, and decided it would be an excellent time to hone his driving skills. My dear hubby thought it sounded quite nice to have a chauffeur. Me and him could read and talk, maybe even watch a Reb Bradley video on our laptop. I said, "Wait a minute! He’s a newbie driver. You have to keep a close eye on him." I knew a video was out…
