Sisters & Bathroom Make-Overs
Here it is, the promised pictures of our recent bathroom make-over. My sister from Pennsylvania is arriving Sunday night and so I debated about whether to post the pictures or not. I just had to share this recipe with you all. It’s really quite easy and the family thoroughly enjoyed it. I love finding new recipes. Even recipes for things like Fried Grasshoppers. Now do you really think I would make anything that unusual? Hee Hee. I’ll leave it for you to wonder. But this recipe, from a cooking blog, you can trust me on. There’s nothing strange or unusual about it except the dry glass noodles, and I can promise they won’t cut or kill you. The recipe mentions lumpia throughout it. Grasshopper Study
Back in September of 2006 we decided to really study nature up close and personal. But then we had a nasty surprise! Since that time we haven’t kept anything in our terrarium until a few weeks ago. Grasshoppers are found aplenty in our yard right now so we caught about 6 and placed them in our terrarium. Pet Bugs by Sally Kneidel gives instructions on how to keep crickets and so I followed those for our grasshoppers. 1. We filled our terrarium with 1" of sand. 2. Kept for the Master's Use
During my morning devotionals I’ve been reading Kept for the Masters Use by Frances Ridley Havergal, the hymn writer. If you purchase this book and only read the last few chapters it would be worth every penny. Each chapter in the book talks about keeping the different parts of ourselves (our lives, moments, hands, feet, voice, wills, etc.) for the Master’s use. In the chapter Our Selves Kept for Jesus she writes how we must trust in God and in so doing we will find rest, "a relief from all strain and effort".
