A Third Trip to Havasupai – Day 3
In past years, on the third day, we would be hiking out but this year we decided to stay an day. It was a nice relaxing day visiting Navajo & Havasu Falls but there were some that hiked to Beaver again! They wanted to do more cliff jumping. Havasu Falls was where Russell and I went first. There were some that climbed the slippery moss covered rocks to get to a place under the falls where they could jump. We stayed a good amount of time and even witnessed someone getting engaged – the second engagement we saw while at Havasupai. Navajo Falls, we have found, is the…

A Third Trip to Havasupai – Day 2
Russell started off the morning with the continental breakfast offered by the Lodge. 🙂 Going to Havasupai in September the weather was much nicer in the mornings. Preparing to have devotions before hiking out for the day. Parts of Navajo Falls had changed. The reeds were very thick and tall in some areas. We are wondering if they die out in the winter and come back in the summer because we’ve never seen so many here. In another post I’ll show you more of Navajo Falls because we didn’t stop here on this day for long. Our main goal was to hike 5.5 miles one way to…

A Third Trip to Havasupai – Day 1
The weather was beautiful, the people lovely and the scenery spectacular. Havasupai 2017 did not disappoint. We left the house about 4:30am. In past years, we’ve always met up with some of our other hikers at another location but this year they were all staying at my house so we didn’t stop at our usual breakfast stop but traveled further along. Eating in the cool morning air at 6:30 in the morning just didn’t sound appealing. But the morning warmed up and we found a little spot on the side of the road to eat our simple breakfast of yogurt and cereal. Cousins making memories together. Once…

And the After… After Youth Camp – Part II
After the youth camp ended, we traveled to Ohio. We were invited to a homeschooler’s high school graduation party (the best!) for some friends of ours that used to live in Arizona and we were delighted that we could attend. I received a knock on my hotel door the next day with a voice saying in an accent, “Room Service.” I opened the door and this is what I found. I could not help but laugh. Of course, we had to take the kids to this amazing nursery and tell them all about how God gave this family their business. They just happen to have this nice pond….…

An Anniversary Get-Away
I love get-aways with my husband and although they’re usually just a day or two, this time he took me away for a whole week! In full disclosure I must tell you that it’s for our 25th anniversary that was 3 years ago! Yes, it’s true. It’s in honor of our 25th anniversary even though we just passed our 28th wedding anniversary a month ago. The beautiful state of Colorado called our name and so we came – besides the fact that we had a week to use with a timeshare we have. 🙂 It was a 12 hour drive and we passed through some beautiful country in Arizona, no…
