• Men's Thinking vs. Women's Thinking

This past week I had the opportunity to hear Sharon Grimes speak. Particularly humorous was what she had to say about how men and women are different. Men tend to think this way: This ONE thing I do… Phillipians 3:13 Women tend to think this way: I can do ALL things… Phillipians 4:13 She then showed a box that had multiple drawers in it. Each drawer was labeled with the different things a man might think about during a day. She held up a rubber ball that represented her husbands brain and said, “When my husband wakes up in the morning his mind is on getting a fire going in…

  • Viewing Pictures on a Blog

I’m intrigued by the post.  I want to see the neat birthday cake little Missy made or the art project Jr. put together.  But when I look at the picture all I see is a wall, a top of a head (yes, even though it’s precious little jr.’s head I still want to see his face 🙂 ) or the sky.  So, recently I wrote our Blog Hoster and asked why??  Here is what he said. "My only guess with the pictures not showing up all the way is that it’s because there are so many.  I was able to see everything just fine, but the number of images on…

  • May I Introduce You To…

When I first started Treasuring the Moments I was unsure whether to use my children’s first names or not.  To be on the safe side I didn’t.  Recently, I asked a fellow blogger her opinion.  Her thoughts were that using first names should be fine but that she might not use the last name. I made the decision to use my childrens first names.  I think it’s a lot easier to remember a name than initials too.  So without further adieu, may I present to you our family. Russell, my dh Elisabeth , yours truly Seth – age 16 Zachary – age 14 Wesley – age 11 Serenity – age 9…

  • Nature Activity

I got this book while in Pennsylvania at Thanksgiving.    The author discusses shapes and sizes, training your artist’s eye, the seasons and in the back of the book there is a field guide giving information on many of the leaves used to make the animals in the book.  While in Pennsylvania the kids collected leaves to bring home since where we live has mostly pine trees. Here are some of the pictures the kids made.  I’m hoping to frame them before they get ruined.  But I took pictures, just in case! Can you figure out what they are?   This is a…Mountain Lion, And this one is an… Owl, whose branch it’s resting on, needs repaired. This,…

  • A Special Sunday

On December 31st we had our youngest child AE, age 1 dedicated.  Our church is meeting right now at a senior center and so we thought to make it feel more special we would have the dedication here at our home.   We invited the people from church to join us (about 40-50 of them).  Another friend of mine also had her two little girls dedicated at the same time. Afterwards we had lunch which consisted of two types of soup, curry made by my friend from South Africa, salad, rolls and various desserts. I was thrilled that my mom and dad were still here in Arizona for the holidays.  My husband’s parents live in the…
