Tea Parties for Children & Hostess Skills
A week ago Serenity (11yo) hosted her first ever event – an Anne of Green Gables tea party. I was amazed to watch her planning skills and creativity blossom with this occasion. She’s a girl after my own heart. I always type up my plans on computer to help keep me organized. She was on top of it – everyday reviewing her notes of what needed to be done. The day before and morning of the tea party she was bustling around decorating and getting food ready. A little friend came to stay the night before and was also a wonderful help. Farewell, Granny Smith
Yesterday we laid to rest this Granny Smith apple tree that we planted 10 years ago when Seth (18yo) was only 8. We have the only green patch (our lawn) for miles around so we battle regularly with free roaming cattle that are grazing on the National Forest nearby. Seth liked Granny Smith’s and asked, all those years ago, if we would get one for him. So, we did. It was always a runt of a tree probably due to the fact that cows came to visit it even back then. I’m Entering Phase 2
I’m entering Phase 2 of what? The Twilight Zone? Going crazy? What in the world am I talking about? I’m referring to Phase 2 of the exercise program I have been following outlined in Never Say Diet (which I reviewed here). On Friday I finished the first phase which was exercising 5 days a week consecutively for 4 weeks. Today I will be starting on the exercise ball twice a week, 20 minutes at a time, as well as my regular 30 minute exercise. I’m also supposed to choose a food weakness I have and to stay away from it for the whole month. I chose chocolate. Cheer me on…
