Bible Verses Prophesying Jesus’ Birth & Plus a Few Others
If you’re looking for some Bible verses to read this Christmas, here are several. “Therefore the LORD Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His Name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14). “6 For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince Of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his Kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with Judgment and with…

Sewing Organizer Using Old Jeans
My son had a pair of jeans that were new looking but the back had a pretty bad tear. “What a shame” I thought, “to throw these almost new looking pants away. What can I make with them?” In my hunt for a use for them I found a tutorial for the following sewing organizer. I started to make it but then decided to branch off (gasp! Weekly Review 12/12- 12/18/10
A few highlights of the past week. Our generator’s (we are off-grid) voltage regulator went out on us and so we were left in the dark for a few hours while Russell rounded up another one. Candles were used as well as flashlights. Playing the piano with a flashlight stuck inside a headband. 🙂 My son came home after spending 3 weeks with his grandpa. My dad had a heart attack in November so Seth went everywhere he did as his personal assistant. Dad still works at overseeing nursing homes being built. In the 3 weeks Seth was gone he was in Illinois, Florida, California and overnight in Nevada but…

Monday our family had some visitors drop by for breakfast. I didn’t know they were coming until an 1 1/2 or so before they arrived. I wanted the table to look welcoming and pretty but I needed to do something quick. I was pretty pleased since I usually don’t know what in the world to use for a centerpiece. My pine arrangement would have looked a little puny so adding the fabric helped. The fabric was about 6′ long and I just knotted the ends and wrapped the container with it. I then nestled a few snowflakes in here and there. This little tureen I found at Goodwill a few…

Make Your Own Burp Cloths
I don’t know what exactly inspired me to try making burp cloths but for whatever reason I decided to make some. I found inspiration online. As always! Barb at A Chelsea Morning had some that she had made that I thought were adorable and then I found Laundry Monster on Etsy who has a great variety for sale and they are cute! Here are the ones I made. My supplies were: Pre-folded Birdseye Diapers 1/4 – 1/2 yard fabric – depending on how many burp cloths you would like to make (I chose flannel instead of cotton because I’m thinking the spit-up from the baby will absorb better, but it may…
