How I Keep Large Groups of Guests & Other Tips
It may be quiet here on Treasuring the Moments but that’s because I’ve been busy this past week entertaining. I slipped in here to write this post while everyone is catching up on lost sleep over the past several days. One of the curses blessings of being a early riser is you cannot sleep-in even when your body wants to! We had special church services this weekend, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Summer Mantle 2011
Summer Mantle Fun I took down my Spring Mantle (which was never completed 🙁 ) the other day and then heard I had a crowd headed to my place. (Memorial Day) Not wanting to leave it bare, I needed to get something on my mantle quick. What to do? A few ideas started spinning in my head and in just a short while I was able to complete it and have a lot of fun in the doing. Close-up… I cut some branches from our plum tree and placed them in a mason jar. I’m not sure how long they’ll last but there’s plenty more I can cut. The tree desperately needs pruning anyways.…

Family Life Updates 5/16/11 – 5/28/11
It’s Memorial Day weekend and I want to say thank you to all of those who have served in our military either in the past or now. We appreciate your sacrifice and the sacrifice of your families. Life has been kind of quiet around here. A kind of lull before I have to really get to work. There’s a young lady at our church who has asked me to cater her reception in July, so I’ve been doing lots of thinking about that and writing down any thoughts in my planner. The BEST Honey Mustard Salad Dressing
A lot of work and time has gone into this garden. Zachary did all the work and we are very appreciative of his labors. Plenty of lettuce for a nutritous, enzyme filled green salad with… Honey Mustard salad dressing on top. It is soooo good!! I would really love to share this recipe but my sister would come after me since it’s a Family Secret. Don’t be fooled by her beautiful, bright smile… …there’s that other side of her. Red and White Tablescape
I served Italian the night we had this tablescape. The pictures appear to be a little distorted. Tip: Always be sure your tablecloth is smoothed out and doesn’t have wrinkles like mine is showing. If you have actual wrinkles, take a spray bottle filled with water and spray the wrinkle generously. It’s a quick little fix that can really help if you’re in a hurry.
