• I Need An Anatomy Course

A  few nights ago, as Serenity and Justus were laying in bed,  I heard Serenity talking to Justus about heaven.  After a little while, Justus started crying.  I decided to check up on the little fellow to see what was making him sad. He was broken over the thought of leaving our house and never seeing it again when he went to heaven. I spent some time talking with him about how God is building us another house and will take us to it someday.  He was listening intently and then asked, "Does everyone go to heaven?" After I answered that he wanted to know,  "How do you become a Christian?"…

  • Prayer Journals

"… pray one for another, that ye may be healed."  James 5:16 So many times at church I would hear a prayer request but just wouldn’t remember it later.  To help me in this area I’ve recently started a prayer journal. George Mueller, the great philanthropist and evangelist kept a prayer journal.  In his journal he would write any needs or prayer requests, the date he started praying for it and then in another column record the date the prayer was answered and how it was answered.  He never stopped praying for a request until it was answered. George Mueller prayed for one man over 20 years.  That man received Christ as his Saviour at…

  • CM Carnival #1 – Nature Study in the Upper Levels

Nature Study in the Upper Levels I have felt somewhat inadequate for the job of teaching my two older boys, age 16 and 15, Nature Study.  They love the outdoors but just to walk outside with their sketch books to draw something of my choosing has not been that exciting to them.  Since reading about Charlotte Mason many years ago, I was inspired to give my kids a love of nature.  There is so much to learn about and see and yet I knew nothing.  I bought field guides to have on hand and when a new bird would show up in our yard, I would make a point to express my…
