Tackle It Tuesday #140
I looked in this cupboard one evening and the utter untidiness of it all struck me. What a mess! This has got to change! Hmmm, how could I improve it? Then I had an aha moment. I remembered these little organizers I had tried to sell for $.25 at my first ever garage sale and nobody had wanted them. Thankfully – since now they would come in very handy. Oh, yes. Muuuch better. I love it! The trays on the left are used very infrequently so it matters not that they’re stacked because when I do need them, I’ll just slide them out, choose my paper and then slide it…

Study That Didn't Take Much Study
Take a look at this Frosted Mini-Wheats box – at the very top where it says Clinically Shown to improve kids’ attentiveness by nearly 20%. In very small print there is a 1 next to the 20%. If you read the footnote for that notation here is what it says. Based upon independent clinical research, kids who ate Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheats cereal for breakfast had up to 13% better attentiveness three hours after breakfast than kids who ate no breakfast. I hope they didn’t spend too much time on this "in depth" study – or very much money. Funny how they try to wow you with their studies but then…

Nature Inspiration
I sat and gazed in silence At the azure sky overhead. In the glory of that moment, A simple prayer was said. I thanked God for all the grandeur, For His beauty everywhere, I praised the Great Creator As I sat in silent prayer. I found an inspiration And a peace within my soul,, I took the time to worship And I felt myself made whole. – Lois Anne Williams Copyright 2008 Treasuring the Moments

Homemade Dishwasher Detergent – A Failure
I got inspired to try out a homemade dishwasher detergent. Every recipe I looked at on the Internet recommended Borax and Baking Soda 1:1. Okay, no problem. I’ve had Borax downstairs on top of my freezer for about 5 years now, waiting for some use I’ve quite forgotten. Of course, baking Soda was in my cupboards as well. My first attempt was unsatisfactory. Dishes had some particles of food, smudges and a fine film covering the surface. Second attempt adding vinegar as a rinse aid was unsatisfactory. Same problem. Dishes had particles of food, smudges and a fine film. Now I’ve used vinegar plenty in the past as a rinse…

Where Do I Go For Wisdom?
Six children with different bents, quirks, ideas and personalities. Each one unique from the other. How is it possible when they share the same mom and dad? They say no two people, of the 6.76 billion, world population have the same palm print or fingerprint. This is incredible. There are over 10,000 bird species, an estimated 100,000 different trees… and more then 1,000,000 different insect species. Our God showing He is a God of variety. I cannot fathom the greatness of Him. With six children, alike in some ways, but different in so many other areas how can I know how to lead and train them? Raising children is no…
