Week in Review 12/31/10 – 1/8/11
Backtracking a little… The end of 2010 finished with a real cold snap. We kept our wood-stove burning and I kept my toes warm wearing socks all day. I don’t like cold feet! We even had snow – not bad for Arizona, wouldn’t you say? View from the front of our house. The kids love it when we get a snowfall. Sandi didn’t mind it one little bit either. My precious parents spent a few days with us after visiting family in Tucson, before they headed home. The snow was here for a good week and the kids took advantage of it. Went hiking in beautiful Sedona… with a family that…

WWI Study – High School Speech
We’ve started our WWI study in preparation for a group of us getting together in August (not sure about the date yet) for a speech day where each of the kids will give a speech on something they’ve been studying related to WWI. To begin Wesley’s study he is reading Lusitania by Diana Preston. Sugar proceeded to clean it before she had her 3rd baby. All 3…

Sprucing up the Master Bedroom
We’ve now lived 15 years,as of December, in a home we designed and built ourselves. (Or rather my hubby built it. I just kept him well fed.) The 15 years has went by so quickly. So quickly that there are still projects unfinished after all this time! 🙂 I’m sure you know how it is. You just get used to how things look and only get to things when they really need done. Like my bedroom… We left it white all those years ago because I wanted to paint it but I didn’t know what color. I’m still undecided. 🙂 I also wanted to make a nice little seating area in there but that never happened. You getting…

Christmas 2010
Well after going through about 1,000 photos (I kid you not. Between my daughter and nieces they took over 1,000) I have managed to choose a few more than you probably care to see… The girls had their own private photo shoot Christmas morning and afternoon and evening. (Just how did you think they managed to take over 1,000 photos?) 🙂 They have such good times when they get together. (they live 3 hours away) After we opened gifts, at least half of them being handmade… (Handmade is the best, don’t you think?) (Cousins -Wesley and Enoch.) and signed socks… 🙂 the boys retired to their old bedroom, now turned playroom for…
