• New Farm Additions – Lamb, Pig and Kids

A little update on what’s happening here on the farm. Our mama goats have kidded. The little kids are the cutest things and we have 6 that were born in November.   Serenity got her lamb for 4-H in October.     Wesley now has his 4-H pig, too… brought home in a garbage can turned on its side and with the lid tied down with a bungee cord.  Yea, we’re a little unorthodox sometimes. 🙂 But he seemed quite content.   Mom and Dad arrived in town Friday night so you might be seeing a little less of me this week. 🙂

  • A Night on The Town & Some Cute Gingerbread Houses

My hubby and I have had good intentions through the years to take our children out on individual “dates” but we haven’t been consistent in it at all.  So we decided since we’re not doing that well taking them out individually, we’ll do it together. What I mean is Russell & I will go together with the child instead of just one of us going. We’ve already gone on 2 dates this month.  I could really get into this!  I like eating out. 🙂  No cooking, no dishes…  Are we on the same page? First we went to Wal-Mart since Audrey wanted to go shopping.:)  Shopping she did – all up…

  • Christmas Blog Header

My niece, Zoe is always revamping her blog and she did such a cute job for her Winter theme, I quickly put one together, too. I really wanted to have a family picture just like her but there’s too many in our family and we wouldn’t fit in a frame. In case you’re wondering, there’s 8 of us. 🙂 Thanks, Zoe for the nudge.

  • *A Unique Way to Display Christmas Cards

Hey everyone! I had a very good weekend.  Hope you did, too! This past week I had a moment of in-spi-ra-tion!  I love those moments… since they’re not too frequent. 🙂 Anyways, have you ever seen where hotels/restaurants will cover their large pictures with wrapping paper so that they look like a gift? I saw some this week and it inspired me to take the gate I made 2 years ago for my mantle and wrap it. I’m placing my Christmas cards on it. So simple but a fun way to display the cards we receive.    How do you display your Christmas cards?

  • Winter Mantle 2011

Well here we are doing our Winter mantles for 2011, already! 2011 Winter Mantle   I really like the touch of orangy/red, old books and white pillar candle. Here’s the gold picture frame I painted white and then sprayed chalkboard paint on the glass. The wreath was made from ripped pieces of fabric and knotted onto a wire frame.     I’m still not sure what I really think about the wreath. What’s your opinion? Here’s what my mantle looked like last year. Now to be honest, those branches drove me c.r.a.z.y!!  I really like how some people use branches in their decor but these were just too big and sprawling.  I…
